Roots Asylum – I am her Fool
Directly above is Roots Asylum's fresh new alternative music video I am her Fool. This is how Roots Asylum responded when we asked:
Where did you get your inspiration for this video?
"My mother explained to me that at 1 month old, I was rushed to the hospital with spinal meningitis. They said that it could be viral or bacterial, and if it was viral, there was no cure and I would probably die. They went on to inject me with antiboitics and kept me for a month. When they gave me back to my mother they said, "Little Jimmy is not going to be like the other children, he's special now."
When I was 17 years old I went to visit my father in Indianapolis, after my parents were divorced. My dad had a crystal ball and a deck of tarot cards. He explained that he was making extra money on the side by reading tarot cards to the ladies. He offered to read my cards and I accepted. I shuffled and cut the cards while focusing on my life and my questions. When the top card was flipped over, my father said to me, "Your are a whimsical, naive child in the world and it is good. You are on top of the word because of your carefree foolishness. You are a fool.
One day as I was driving on my 2 hour commute to work, I recalled these stories. And as I drove down the highway, I sang and wrote this song.
Jimmy Macaroni"
