The Amatory Murder – “My Love”
Have a look at The Amatory Murder's latest alternative music video "My Love". Here's what The Amatory Murder had to say when asked:
Where did you get your inspiration for this video?
"“The Amatory Murder are proud to release ‘My Love’, the second single off our upcoming record ‘Singularity Complex’.
The song is very close to my band’s hearts. Upon the sudden death my Father in 2018, it wasn’t until going through Dad’s archives, songbooks and demos that I learned of one of his more completed compositions. ‘My Love’ was originally a stripped-down song with Django Reinhardt-ish vibes that his band Lucky Tones used to play during their jazz gigs at local cafes and wineries in New York. I remember being very impressed and blown away the first time I heard it. I started playing it myself for fun and, if anything, to feel closer to my Dad since he was no longer around. It was very therapeutic for me. Eventually, I played it for my bandmates. They suggested we incorporate it into our live sets—which we did. So far, it’s done well in live settings. Audiences seem to really connect with the romantic lyrics; and it’s pushed all of us as musicians to expand our sound beyond the usual alternative rock genre.
It only made sense The Amatory Murder record our version of ‘My Love’ to include on ‘Singularity Complex’ which is a record about trying to remember who you are and holding onto your humanity in a quickly-changing and tumultuous world. We enlisted some of our friends to be on the track as well: Rita Posillico on backing vocals, Joseph Halimi on (my Dad’s) acoustic guitar and Tony Barba on sax.
The video for ‘My Love’ revolves around a seance between myself my bandmates Scott Genovese, Christian Buckley and Binx Noir. I will say there was some real-life inspiration behind the video, but I’ll leave some mystery to that.
In a time when society seems very uncertain and it’s hard to tune out the noise, I hope viewers and listeners alike take brief vacation and enjoy The Amatory Murder’s new single, ‘My Love’ by Steven Peppas.”"
